San Marcos, TX – Murphy USA’s vision is to deliver every day the quickest, most friendly service and a low price value proposition to our growing customer base for the products and markets we serve. In the spirit of servicing the market of San Marcos, TX we are proud to participate in this ceremony.

The groundbreaking marks the beginning of construction for our brand new 1,200 square foot location. The upcoming Murphy USA retail fueling station will be located at 1201 Highway 80 in San Marcos.

Murphy USA began in 1996 as a retail gasoline venture between Murphy Oil Corporation and Wal-Mart to build Murphy USA stations in the parking lots of their supercenter stores.

At that time, Murphy USA was a downstream subsidiary of Murphy Oil Corporation, which was then an integrated oil and gas company.

On August 30, 2013, Murphy USA spun-off from Murphy Oil Corporation as a standalone gasoline and convenience retail company and began trading under the ticker symbol MUSA on the New York Stock Exchange on September 3, 2013. The spin-off was designed to enhance Murphy USA’s ability to grow, innovate, build capabilities, and focus on its core business as the leading low-price retailer in its sector.

Headquartered in El Dorado, AR, Murphy USA is now one of the largest independent retailers of gasoline products and convenience store merchandise and has expanded to a network of over 1,400 locations in 26 states across the Southeast, Southwest, and Midwest regions of the United States.

Our stores are 100 percent company operated and 90 percent company owned; most are adjacent to Wal-Mart stores. Murphy USA serves approximately 1.6 million customers per day.

Murphy USA also currently operates 295 stores in Texas with 12 more currently under construction and one more set to begin construction later this year.
