Tax Free Weekend IH-35 Exit Ramp Closures

The northbound McCarty Lane exit ramp will be closed on Friday, Aug. 11 at noon until 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug.12 to accommodate increased traffic at the outlet malls during Tax-Free Weekend.

Dynamic signs on the interstate will notify motorists of the closed exit ramps.

The purpose of these ramp closures is to prevent traffic from backing onto the IH-35 main lanes. Before the City began this Tax-Free Weekend traffic control plan more than 11 years ago, traffic would back up on IH-35 and create serious mobility issues.
