San Marcos Chamber Of Commerce Announces 2019 San Marcos Shining Stars Under 40

San Marcos, TX. – The San Marcos Area of Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce this year’s award recipients for the Shining Stars Under 40 Awards presented by Spectrum Reach.

In its 9th year, the Shining Stars Under 40 Awards (SSU40) honors five (5) young professionals under the age of 40 engaged in a variety of fields including business, technology, non-profit management, civic life, public service, education, and the arts, who are making significant contributions in their professional fields as well as through their service to the community.

To be eligible, candidates must be under the age of 40, currently in a position or operating a business in San Marcos, can be shown to have made an impact at their company as well as the potential to be a leader in business, politics and/or the community during the next decade and work for a member of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce or be a current member of the Young Professionals. 

The San Marcos Area Chamber in Partnership with the San Marcos Young Professionals received twenty-three nominates for the SSU40 class of 2019. The winners are selected by a diverse committee consisting of the two members of the San Marcos Young Professionals, one past winner, and one chamber staff representative. 

2019 Shining Star Award Recipients: 

  • Dylan Jones – San Marcos CISD, Crockett Elementary School
  • Jason Dixon – Edward Jones
  • Jo Anna Gilland – Matt Patterson Agency – Farmers Insurance
  • Michael Nolen – McNabb & Co. Real Estate Services
  • Robert Watts – Austin Habitat for Humanity 

The 2019 Shining Stars were honored at the 9th Annual Shining Stars Luncheon on Wednesday, September 25th with over 70 community members in attendance.
