San Marcos Man Charged With Nine Additional Counts Of Possession Of Child Pornography
In October 2018, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received information alleging Possession of Child Pornography and arrested a suspect, identified as 26-year-old Abel Rene Martinez (W/M) of San Marcos following an investigation.
Martinez was arrested on a warrant for one count of Possession of Child Pornography, a 2nd degree Felony, on November 5, 2018, and booked into the Hays County Jail.
According to the Hays County Jail Records, the arrest was made by an agency outside the county. Martinez had been arrested multiple times between 2013 and 2015 on unrelated charges.
A subsequent search warrant executed at Martinez’s residence, which included his electronic devices, resulted in locating hundreds of photographic images and videos of suspected child pornography.
On February 1, 2019, Martinez was charged with nine addition counts of 2nd degree felony Possession of Child Pornography.
