San Marcos Offering Options For Storm Debris Removal

The City of San Marcos is offering residents several options for disposing of branches and limbs blown down during San Marcos’ recent wind storm, including adding an extra Brush Drop Off opportunity on Sat., June 15.

“Not everyone has the means to handle the removal of large limbs, so we want to encourage residents to help their neighbors with any of these options,” said Amy Kirwin, Community Enhancement Initiatives Manager.

Monthly Brush Drop off: Normally open the second Saturday of the month, the brush drop-off facility at 750 River Road will be open June 15th from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Residents can unload all vegetative debris, including tree trunks and leaves.

Effective Immediately  

Green Waste Cart: Any vegetative debris that is smaller than 5” in diameter can be put in the resident’s green waste cart and paper yard bags. Residents can put as many paper yard bags as they want next to their green waste cart on service day.

Remember the lid must be able to close on your cart for it to be serviced. Green Waste Cart service for the next two cycles:


Bulk Pickup:
Residents can call in for pickup of up to three cubic yards four times per year. Vegetative debris must be cut into 4’ lengths and bundled weighing no more than 35 pounds.

Pickups are available June 17-21 and July 1-5 on their regular trash service day. Residents must call Resource Recovery staff at 512.393.8407 to schedule a bulk pick up by noon the day before their bulk pickup.
