Superintendent Eads Retained as Interim Superintendent

On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, the San Marcos CISD school board voted to retain Superintendent Mark E. Eads as the Interim Superintendent while the search for a permanent superintendent continues. Eads will remain on a month-to-month basis, with the same salary and benefits he had as superintendent.

In September 2015, Eads resigned effective January 31, 2016. He has been with the district since 2011.

“I agreed to remain as interim to maintain stability in the district,” Eads said. “With a record enrollment of over 7,900, our primary focuses must be that our students continue learning in a consistent manner, and that our educators receive the direction and support that they need to make that happen.  I look forward to continue working with our team.”

The superintendent search firm of JG Consulting continues to meet with groups throughout the community for input. The next meeting will be Thursday, January 21, at 6 pm, in the cafeteria of Goodnight Middle School, 1301 Highway 123. Staff, parents, and the public are invited to attend.
