Central Texas Wing CAF to do patriotic flyovers for July 4th celebrations

San Marcos, TX – On Saturday, July 3rd, and Sunday, July 4th, 2021, warbird aircraft of the Central Texas Wing of the Commemorative Air Force will perform flyovers of neighborhoods in Austin to help celebrate Independence Day.

Participating neighborhoods will see up to six vintage aircraft flyover at 1000 feet above ground level in precise formation. The aircraft will over-fly up to fifty neighborhoods over the July 4th weekend.

The precise route of flight for the formation will be determined on July 1st. This is also the deadline for neighborhoods to sign up to participate.

Neighborhoods can put a “pin on the map” with as low as a $500.00 donation to the organization.

The event will be live-streamed via Facebook and YouTube with audio and video from both the ground and the aircraft during the flight.

Funds from the event will be used to support the continued preservation and restoration of historic aircraft.
