Community Relations and Outreach Specialist Chip Adams will present the designation at 7 p.m. The designation ceremony will include remarks from councilmember Melissa Derrick, Tara Miller of the Rock Bottom String Band, and David Beck.

Certification as a Music Friendly Community follows a months-long process that included a Texas Music Office-sponsored workshop, collaboration with local music education programs, and the establishment of an advisory board made up of local music industry stakeholders. Participation in the program provides communities across Texas a network for fostering music industry development and growth.
