Sheriff Cutler, A Jail Bird For A Good Cause

Annually the Muscular Dystrophy Association conducts the Lockup fundraising challenge with local personalities.

Gary Job Corps Deputy Center Director Nathalene Matthews and Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler were honorary Jail Birds soliciting funds for their release from the Lockup at the San Marcos Embassy Suites and Conference Center.

Nathalene Matthews and Sheriff Cutler raised a little over $1,400 for their time behind bars, with the City of San Marcos raising a whopping total of $16,405.33.

Muscular dystrophy is a group of disorders characterized by progressive loss of muscle mass and consequent loss of strength. 

Currently, there is no cure for muscular dystrophy, but certain physical and medicinal treatments can improve symptoms and slow the disease’s progression.
