Austin & Central Texas Region GOOD GOOD GOOD

FRIDAY 11/1/2019
Very light winds and limited vertical mixing could be enough for urban fine particulate to build up over portions of far West Texas, possibly raising the daily PM2.5 AQI to the lower to middle end of the “Moderate” range and the daily PM10 AQI to the upper end of the “Good” range (perhaps with an isolated low “Moderate” or two) in parts of the El Paso area, with highest concentrations in the morning and evening.

Elsewhere in the state, moderate to strong winds, cold temperatures, and/or lower incoming background levels should help keep air quality in the “Good” range in most spots.

SATURDAY 11/2/2019
Very light amounts of transported smoke from seasonal fires across the Pacific Northwest could arrive in portions of the Texas Panhandle, though the intensity of the smoke is not expected to be enough to raise the daily PM2.5 AQI beyond the upper end of the “Good” range throughout most of the affected region, which includes parts of the Amarillo and Lubbock areas.

Otherwise, moderate winds, cold temperatures, increased cloud cover, and/or low incoming background levels should help keep air quality in the “Good” range in most spots statewide.

SUNDAY 11/3/2019
Very light amounts of transported smoke from seaonal fires across the Pacific Northwest could shift eastward over portions of North Central and Northeast Texas before beginning to retreat northward out of the state. However, the intensity and duration of the smoke is not expected to be enough to raise the daily PM2.5 AQI beyond the upper end of the “Good” range throughout most of the affected region, which includes parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth, Tyler-Longview, and Waco-Killeen areas.

Otherwise, moderate winds, cool temperatures, and/or low incoming background levels should help keep air quality in the “Good” range in most spots statewide.
