Representatives from Tanger Outlet Center met at San Marcos High School’s “main street” on May 10th to present a check in the amount of $3,075 to art teacher Thom Rogers, as part of the TangerKIDS Grants program. The grant will fund Rogers’ project called Sludge into Serenity: Improving Ceramics with a Pugmill Program.

Rogers said, “I am thrilled to accept this award. The piece of equipment this grant will provide is truly a game changer for our current clay recycling process.”

“With the increased shortages in funding and growing needs of schools around the country, Tanger Outlet Centers, Inc. is pleased to offer this new program to assist our local schools, “said Jay Marmo, Associate Assistant General Manager at Tanger.

Principal Kelli Lopez gathered a large crowd of students and staff to the presentation, saying this was an opportunity for our students to see how much Tanger Outlets-San Marcos supports our district and the community.

Rogers added, “Tanger’s grant program has given our school and district the ability to inspire children for years to come with creativity and philanthropy.”
