Texas A&M To Build Technology Innovation, Modernization Center

Texas A&M University (TAMU) is seeking architect and engineering services to design a $10 million Technology Innovation and Modernization Catalyst project on the RELLIS campus in Bryan.

The Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) is proposing to construct a 20,000-square-foot multifaceted-use facility that will include offices, conference rooms, and collaboration spaces for university, industry, and other subject matter experts.

Plans call for an agile, re-configurable collaboration and workspace focused on creating and integrating early-stage, dual-use, and heterogeneous integration innovations and transforming them into high-value commercial assets for public and private sector partners.

The proposed building will be part of a much broader footprint to converge and accelerate modernization priorities of TEES clients.

University officials anticipate beginning the design phase in February 2021 and approving construction documents in January 2022.

TAMU anticipates advertising for competitive sealed proposals (CSPs) in February 2022 and seeking board of regents approval in April 2022 for construction, which is expected to take 14 months and conclude by July 2023.
