Cronk was selected from 200 applicants, including Howard Lazarus, the other finalist who was a former public works director.

Cronk will replace the former city manager Marc Ott who resigned in Sept. 2016. His position will begin in February 2018 once contract negotiations are concluded.

Prior to becoming the city coordinator in Minneapolis in 2014, Cronk previously was employed by non-profit organizations in California, the Department of Small Business Services for New York City and as a commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Administration. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
