Texas State Soccer Announces New Member Of 2019 Soccer Signing Class

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State soccer head coach Kat Conner announced the signing of Kiara Gonzales to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. The addition of Gonzales brings the 2019 signing class to 10 members.

“We are very excited to add Kiara to our 2019 Bobcat soccer recruiting class,” said Conner. “Kiara is a quick, attacking player who looks to score every chance she gets. She is yet another athlete who works extremely hard and cares about her teammates. We expect great things from her because she always gives her best.”

Gonzales is a 5-foot, 5-inch forward from Austin, Texas. She is attends James Bowie High School and has helped the Bulldogs compile a 3-3-1 overall record and 2-1 mark in district play so far in her senior season.

In 2018, the future Bobcat was an All-District 14-6A Second Team selection. Her performance on the pitch helped JBHS to go 8-0-0 in district play and outscore opponents 30-1.

Gonzales is also a member of the Bulldog basketball team. In her free time she volunteers with Meals on Wheels, Blue Santa and Mobile Loaves & Fishes.

She and future criminal justice major choose TXST because of the soccer program and the school’s forensic anthropology research facility.

Gonzales will be joining Haley Benson, Ainsley Forbes, Madison Humphrey, Bailey Peschel, Lindsey Salisbury, Mandy Schneider, Avery Theis, Karlee Torisk and Kamaria Williams in the signing class.
