Texas State Volleyball Earns National Ranking

Texas State University Women’s Volleyball Team earned its first national rank in school history on Tuesday.

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State volleyball team earned a national ranking of No. 22 in this week’s VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.

The ranking is the first in school history for the maroon and gold.

The Bobcats are presently 20-5 overall and 11-0 in Sun Belt Conference action. They are riding a 15-match win streak at the moment, which is the longest since 2000 and third-longest in school history.

TXST has a three-match lead in the league with three weeks remaining in the regular season. The team has an NCAA RPI of No. 28, which is the highest in school history. The recognition comes in large part thanks to key road wins over Rice and Arizona State. The Bobcats have also toppled UTSA (twice), James Madison and Coastal Carolina.

Texas State’s resume is also boosted having played Texas, Kentucky, Marquette, and Baylor.

The Bobcats are slated to compete in their final two home matches of the season when they host Louisiana at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 and ULM at noon Oct. 28. The ULM match will double as Senior Day.
