From August 14-19, youth across San Marcos, aged 10-16, will converge at Centro Cultural Hispano for an exciting new camp.

Isha Rosemond, a local filmmaker and art instructor at Centro Cultural Hispano.

The camp is led by Isha Rosemond, a local filmmaker and art instructor at Centro, who is perhaps best known for creating MLLNHeal: a series of local events where millennials of color create, connect and communicate with the goal of forging solutions to societal problems.

MLLNHeal hosts monthly gatherings at Wake the Dead Coffeehouse on fourth Wednesdays.

Rosemond’s affordable day camp — priced at $60/week or $15/day, with flexibility by request — runs from 9am until noon each day next week, offering youth the chance to explore Black history, cultivate personal power and dive into the importance of the arts.

The camp aims to incorporate painting, music, acting, and Kemetic yoga in collectively teaching students the value of their agency and creativity.

Vegetarian breakfast and snacks will be provided to campers.
