Texas Supreme Court temporarily allows school mask mandates to remain

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Gov. Greg Abbott wanted the high court to disallow mask mandates in Texas school districts. Justices dismissed their request on a technicality, without issuing a ruling on their legal arguments.

  1. Why can’t I get a simple answer? SMCISD Trustees are in defiance of Abbott’s order. The Texas Supreme Court is allowing temporary masking. But what happens next? Parents need an answer. I need to know what the trustees will do if the Court sides with Abbott.
    – Trustees Defy
    – Abbott sues & fines
    – Money is wasted on litigation instead of spent on education
    – Schools shut down again?
    Are they going to allow kids to fall even further behind? I don’t trust the trustees. My kids deserve a politics free education. That requires transparency.
