SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women’s basketball head coach Zenarae Antoine announced the schedule for the upcoming 2018-19 season on Wednesday morning.

The Bobcats have 27 contests confirmed on the schedule with 12 home games scheduled to be played at the newly renovated Strahan Arena at the University Events Center. Texas State has 14 road games and one neutral-site game on the schedule.

The schedule is highlighted by inclusion in the 2018 Preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) and the Tulane Classic. The Bobcats will also square off with opponents from both the SEC and Big 12 as part of the 2018-19 schedule.

“Our team is looking forward to the reward of the Preseason WNIT and the challenge of our preseason schedule,” Antoine said. “Our fans will find that our schedule will feature teams that saw postseason play in 2018 and the schedule will prepare us for our Sun Belt Conference slate.”

The Bobcats open the season on Nov. 9 at New Mexico as part of the WNIT. Texas State is guaranteed at least three games in the tournament. The remaining two contests will be decided based on the result of the season-opening tilt with the Lobos.

Following the WNIT, the Bobcats take on I-35 rival UTSA on Nov. 20 in San Antonio to begin a stretch of four games in 11 days. TXST will return to San Marcos on Nov. 24 to take on Oral Roberts before hitting the road to play at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 26) and Oklahoma State (Nov. 30).

On Dec. 4, Texas State will host St. Thomas, playing the Celts for the first time since 2013. The Bobcats will then have 13 days to prepare for the Missouri Tigers (Dec. 17) before heading into the 2018 Tulane Classic (Dec. 21-22) in New Orleans.

The four-team tournament features Old Dominion, St. Mary’s, Texas State, and host Tulane. TXST is scheduled to play Dec. 21 against the Gaels of St. Mary’s in the first round and Dec. 22 in either the consolation or championship game of the event. The non-conference portion of the schedule concludes on Dec. 31 against Texas A&M International.

For the second-straight season, Texas State will open the conference slate on the road. The Bobcats will open its sixth season of Sun Belt basketball on Jan. 3 against the Eagles of Georgia Southern before traveling up to Atlanta on Jan. 5 to square off with the Georgia State Panthers.
