Tree Trimming Begins This Week For N. LBJ & Oakridge Improvements Project

Contractors will begin trimming trees Monday, August 22 along the detour route that will be used by motorists when this Water and Wastewater project begins construction later this month.

Area residents can expect to see tree trimmers on Camaro Way to Schulle Drive, Nichols to Highland Drive, Elm Hill Court to Meadow Parkway. The pre-detour trimming is taking place to prevent low hanging limb damage from higher profile vehicles using the detour routes.

LBJ will be closed to thru-traffic for approximately six months while construction crews are working in the roadway. The road closure will extend from Holland Street to Camaro Way. Detour sign installation will begin the week of August 29.

Starting September 6, residents can expect the intersection of N. LBJ and Holland to be closed daily while the contractor works in the intersection. Traffic will be detoured onto Younger and Chestnut while the daytime work occurs. This short term detour is expected to last approximately 2 weeks.

The project will increase the size of the water mains and wastewater lines on N. LBJ from Holland Street to Craddock, Oakridge from N.LBJ to the dead end (eastside), and Timbercrest. The lift station on Oakridge will be upgraded as well.

Construction is expected to last approximately one year and should be complete in the fall of 2017, weather permitting.
