UPDATED: Armed Robbery, Shooting at Local Business

 

The San Marcos Police Department is searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery and shooting at a local business in San Marcos Sunday evening.The suspect is described as a Hispanic male approximately 5’07” wearing a green, short-sleeved hoodie and blue jeans. He was armed with a pistol and fled the scene on foot in the direction of The Treehouse Apartments, 800 North LBJ Drive.

The San Marcos Police Department received a call at 6:16 p.m. reporting a man had been shot. Sunday evening at the Gotta Habit Smoke Shop, located at 700 N. LBJ #113. The suspect entered the store brandishing a pistol and was confronted by the victim.  It is unknown if anything was stolen during the robbery.

Officers from multiple agencies and a K-9 unit responded to the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The victim has been identified as Patrick William Reilly, 25 years old, from San Marcos. Reilly was working at the Gotta Habit Smoke Shop at the time of the incident and was shot once in the chest while struggling with the suspect.

Reilly was transported by San Marcos-Hays County EMS to University Medical Center Brackenridge in critical condition.

No interviews will be granted at this time.
