UPDATE: Kyle Police Officer Found Deceased At Apartment Complex In San Marcos

An off-duty Kyle police officer was found deceased of a self-inflicted gunshot in his personal vehicle Sunday evening in the parking lot of an apartment complex in San Marcos.
No suspects are being sought. The deceased has been identified as Fernando Solis (01/08/1990).
On Sunday, Sept. 16 at approximately 5 p.m., San Marcos Police officers and EMS responded to the 1300 block of Wonder World Dr. (Asbury Place Apartments) for a report of a male who had been shot and was deceased.
Solis was found in his vehicle with an apparent self-inflicted wound.
“Our deepest condolences go out to Officer Solis’ family and to the entire Kyle Police Department,” said San Marcos Chief of Police Chase Stapp.
Kyle Police Department released the following statement last night.
“Kyle Police Department confirms that it was notified earlier this evening about the death of one of its police officers. The incident occurred when the officer was off duty in San Marcos.”
