Volunteers Pick Up Thousands Of Pounds Of Trash For SMTX Fall River Cleanup

Cleanup areas included San Marcos River from City Park to Stokes Park; Purgatory Creek; Willow Creek; Downtown and drainage ditches along Hopkins Street, Charles Austin Drive, and Hwy 123.

More than 300 volunteers picked up thousands of pounds of trash and recyclable material during last Saturday’s Fall River Cleanup.

An estimated 2,940 pounds of bagged trash, 291 pounds of bagged recycling, 200 pounds of metal, 20 tires and many miscellaneous large items were gathered during the event.

Cleanup areas included San Marcos River from City Park to Stokes Park; Purgatory Creek; Willow Creek; Downtown and drainage ditches along Hopkins Street, Charles Austin Drive, and Hwy 123.
