Keep Austin Kind

Austin business providing opportunity for locals to “Keep Austin Kind”

Austin, TX — In an effort to “Keep Austin Kind,” local business Marathon Real Estate is providing opportunities for Austinites to get involved and spread the love.

On Thursday, Feb. 23, the Marathon team will be hosting a Clean the Trail initiative at Shoal Creek Park, and delivering flowers to residents at AGE of Central Texas.

“We’re fortunate enough to live in a city and in a community that is steadfast in its ability to give and help,” said Marathon co-founder Luisa Mauro. “This is just our way of furthering those ideals, and building on what is already a strong foundation here in Austin. We’ll be providing gloves, trash bags and plenty of water for the trail cleanup, as well as all the flowers for our deliveries. We encourage anyone and everyone who’d like to participate to stop by, even if it’s only for a few minutes.”

The Clean the Trail event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants will meet at 38th Street and Shoal Creek, on the north side of 38th Street. Street parking is available onsite.

Flower delivery to residents at AGE of Central Texas will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at 3710 Cedar Street.

“We’re also going to have flowers here at the office for anyone who’d like to grab some for their co-workers, or just to hand out to strangers,” Mauro said. “There are no set rules, it’s all about spreading the love however you can. If you can’t participate with us, perform your own act of kindness and post a photo using the hashtags #keepaustinkind #austinkindnessday or #spreadkindness.”

Flowers will be available on Feb. 23 at the Marathon office, located at 620 W. 34th Street, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
