Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term

LANE CLOSURE — 7/31/21 to 8/7/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Saturday (7/31) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday (8/1) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday-Friday (8/2-8/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 in both directions one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/1/21 to 8/3/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Sunday (8/1) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (8/2) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from Manor Springdale to MLK Blvd., north to south U-turn will be closed at Loyola.

RAMP CLOSURE — 8/1/21 to 8/6/21 — CLEARING
Sunday (8/1) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday-Thursday (8/2-8/5) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the airport will be closed at US 183. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

ROAD CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/6/21 — PAVING
Monday-Friday (8/2-8/6) 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., South to north U-turn at Patton Ave. will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/6/21 — SOUND WALL CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Friday (8/2-8/6) 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right general-purpose lane will be closed from US 290 to Manor Springdale Rd.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/4/21 — PAVING
Monday (8/2) at 9 a.m. until Wednesday (8/4) at 12 p.m., US 183 northbound on-ramp at Purple Sage will be reduced to one lane.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/6/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (8/2-8/6) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions will be reduced to one lane from Interchange Blvd. to Techni Center Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/6/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (8/2-8/6) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Patton to Montopolis Dr.

ROAD CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/4/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (8/2-8/4) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., north to south U-turn at Manor Springdale will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/7/21 — PAVING
Monday-Thursday (8/2-8/5), 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (8/6) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (8/7) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., US 183 in both directions will be reduced to one lane from Patton Ave to Interchange Blvd.

ROAD CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/6/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Thursday (8/2-8/5) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound main lane will be closed at SH 71. Detour via U-turn at E. Riverside Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/4/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Tuesday (8/2-8/3) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be reduced to one lane from MLK Blvd. to Interchange Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/8/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Friday (8/2-8/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 in both directions one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

ROAD CLOSURE — 8/2/21 to 8/3/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday (8/2) 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., south to north U-turn at Patton will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/3/21 to 8/5/21 — PAVING
Tuesday (8/3) at 9 a.m. until Thursday (8/5) at 12 p.m., US 183 northbound right frontage lane will be closed from MLK Blvd. to 51st St.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/6/21 to 8/8/21 — PAVING
Monday (8/2) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday (8/6) at 8 p.m. until Sunday (8/8) at 6 p.m., Eastbound MLK Blvd. right lane will be closed at US 183 and US 183 south left frontage lane will be closed at MLK Blvd.

Long Term

DETOUR — 5/24/21 to 7/31/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
U-turns north of Boggy Creek closed for barrier repairs. Detour to U-turns at MLK and Levander Loop.
