San Marcos Continues To Hold Top Spot For Cheapest Rent In Region

The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in February 2020 across 8 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest-growing rents.
The Texas one-bedroom median rent was $949 last month.
The Most Expensive
° Austin was the most expensive city with one-bedrooms priced at $1,260.
° Cedar Park rent grew 1.8% to $1,140 and ranked as the second priciest city.
° Georgetown was third with rent at $1,100.
The Least Expensive
° San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one-bedrooms priced at $900.
° Round Rock was second with rent at $1,020.
° Pflugerville rent stayed flat at $1,070 and remained the third least expensive.
The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
° Cedar Park had the fastest-growing rent, up 12.9% since this time last year.
° Kyle saw rent climb 9.2%, making it the second-fastest-growing.
° Austin was third with rent increasing 6.8%.
The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
° Kyle had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 2.9%.° Cedar Park rent jumped 1.8% last month, making it the second-fastest-growing.
° Austin ranked as third with rent climbing 1.6%.
