Hays County Commissioners Court Honors Co-Founder Of ALERRT Center

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – The Hays County Commissioners Court proclaimed February 28 as Diana Hendricks Day in honor of one of the founders of the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center, who is retiring.

The Court thanked Hendricks for her dedication, expertise, and service to the law enforcement community and the public.

According to the proclamation, Hendricks, along with colleagues John Curnutt, David Burns, Terry Nichols, Steve Griffith, and Don Montague, developed numerous grant proposals resulting in more than $77 million since ALERRT’s inception in 2002.

She has served as Director of Communication at the Center since 2003, garnering worldwide recognition for the Center’s active shooter response, media relations, and community recovery and assistance programs.

Hendricks also took the lead in developing ALERRT’s “Don’t Name Them” campaign, encouraging the media to focus on survivors, heroes, and victims of tragedies, resulting in media awareness in reporting attacks.
