Kyle Woman Arrested On Sex Trafficking Case Tied To Backstage

Hays County Sheriff’s department arrested a 43-year-old Kyle woman, Wednesday, for sex trafficking of a minor and compelling prostitution.

In a court case that dates back to June 29, 2015, Nancy Cisneros allegedly knowingly trafficked a 16-year-old in escort advertisements on backpage.com.

Cisneros also provided the various locations for the acts of prostitution to take place according to court files.

The victim, 16, confided that she met the suspect through friend, who was also engaged in prostitution; the victim’s name and number was then passed on to another individual, Bernell Quillens, who eventually contacted her.

After making contact, Quillens arranged to pick up the victim at 1 a.m. on June 29, 2015. A second man, Cameron White, was in the vehicle with him and did all the driving over the following couple of days.

Court documents say Quillens and White would only pick up the girl after her mother had fallen asleep or had left the house. The victim said the men photographed her at a hotel and posted the images on an advertising service for escorts.

The victim said over the following few days, she met with individuals and engaged in sexual activities with them.

Quillens and White took the victim to meet Cisneros at a Kyle 7-eleven. Court documents show Quillen and Cisernos exchanged money.

Carl Ferrer, 55-year-old CEO of backstage.com, was taken into custody Monday on a California arrest warrant after he arrived in Houston on a flight from Amsterdam. A lengthy joint investigation by the offices of the Texas and California attorneys general uncovered evidence that adult and child sex trafficking victims were forced into prostitution through escort ads that appeared repeatedly on Backpage.

The company is involved in a human trafficking investigation, which included a raid on their Dallas headquarters last week. The company is said to make millions in classified sex ads every year.
