TxTag has issued a statement to customers concerning toll billing discrepancies that some are experiencing:

“We apologize for the experience people are having with toll billing at this time. We believe we’ve captured all the issues and we’re in the process of correcting them as quickly as we can.” In the interim, the toll company will suspend all Pay By Mail invoices and violations until they are sure they have this issue resolved, they said.

The company continued, “Be assured – customers will NOT pay any fees that they did not accrue on their own.” Those customers with Texas tolling authority tags– TxTag, EZTag and TollTag – do not have to call in; TxTag is working with those tolling agencies to reverse erroneous charges.

Customers with TxTags or those who received a TxTag bill can call 888-468-9824 should they want to speak with someone. TxTag is extending its customer service hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. “Again, we sincerely apologize for this system error and assure you we are making this right,” they said.

TxTag’s full statement may be accessed via their website.
