Hays County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest After Bomb Threat
The Sheriff’s Office and the County Jail went into lockout and assistance was requested from the San Marcos Police Department and the Austin Police Department Bomb Squad.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 phone call at approximately 9:26 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, from a male subject who said that he wanted to talk to a Detective or a Sergeant.
When the dispatcher asked him some questions to find out more details and to verify what he needed, he got agitated and then threatened to “bomb the jail.”
The caller identified himself to the 911 call taker as
Chance Bandy Date of birth: 07/26/1982.
The Sheriff’s Office and the County Jail went into lockout and assistance was requested from the San Marcos Police Department and the Austin Police Department Bomb Squad.
After a thorough check of the Sheriff’s Office parking lots and buildings, the lockdown was lifted.
Deputies located Bandy at his residence in San Marcos and place him under arrest for Terroristic Threat, a Class B misdemeanor. Bandy was transported to the Hays County Jail where he remains incarcerated until he is seen by a judge, who will set his bond.
