Heavy rain early this morning has caused flooding in areas in San Marcos, and the National Weather Service has issued both a flash flood warning and a severe thunderstorm warning, as well as a tornado watch in San Marcos.
No tornado damage has been reported in San Marcos, contrary to earlier reports.
City officials are asking residents to stay home—turn around, don’t drown.
San Marcos CISD has canceled classes today. Students who are already on campus are sheltering in place, but officials are asking parents to keep their students home.
Texas State University is delaying classes until noon.
Emergency officials are asking residents to stay home today and monitor local weather reports as numerous streets and low water crossings have water flowing over them, creating extremely hazardous driving conditions.
