UPDATE: TCEQ Required Boil Water Advisory Notice

BOIL WATER NOTIFICATION

Due to conditions that have occurred recently in the water system in the area from Aquarena Springs to Yarrington Road, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.  The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.  In lieu of boiling you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

Boiling water will be advised as of the time water service resumed on October 30, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

We anticipate receiving test results showing that water is safe to drink by November 3, 2015 at 12:00 noon.

You will be notified again when it is no longer necessary to boil your water.

This is a precautionary measure.  A Boil Water Advisory does not necessarily mean that your water is contaminated, only that there is a possibility of contamination due to lack of pressure in the main lines for an extended period.

If you have questions regarding this matter, you may contact the Water/Wastewater Utilities office at 512-393-8010.
