Weather Update 8:28 PM: The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning from 1/10/2020 8:26 PM to 9:15 PM CST for Hays County, TX.

The storm keeps pushing westward, which pulls San Marcos firmly into the enhanced risk zone. We’re looking at high winds, hail 1-2″ in diameter, a slight possibility of an isolated tornado, and plenty of rain.

We should start seeing strong weather this afternoon and moving into this evening, so bring in your cars, your pets, your fragile plants, and stay warm and dry!

Strong to severe storms will be possible this afternoon and tonight for areas generally along and east of a Rocksprings to Carrizo Springs line.

The most favored areas for severe storms will be east of a Llano to New Braunfels to Hallettsville line where there is an Enhanced risk of severe storms.

The main threat will be damaging winds gusts up to 70 mph, however, isolated tornadoes and large hail up to 2 inches are also possible.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for South-Central Texas counties.
