BR3T Opens Volunteer Resource Center for Buda-Kyle Area, Seeks Donations
The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team (BR3T) has opened a fourth Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) to assist survivors of the October 30-31 floods and storms who need help with registering for assistance and to serve as a registration and dispatch location for volunteers assisting in flood and storm response.
The BR3T is accepting donations online via credit card or PayPal at www.BR3T.org. Donations are accepted in person at any Wells Fargo Bank branch or by mailing a check or money order to The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team, P.O. Box 685, San Marcos, TX 78667.
The new VRC is in Buda at 500 Jack C. Hays Trail (FM 2770, Hays County Precinct 5 Office) and will be open Sunday, November 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist survivors who need help and to register persons and groups who want to volunteer to help survivors. Its regular days and times beginning Monday, November 9, will be Mondays-Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call 512-931-1167.
The VRC at Dunbar Recreation Center at 801 Martin Luther King Drive in San Marcos is also open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice, phone 512-677-9701.
The Wimberley VRC is open Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 200 Stillwater Drive in Wimberley until further notice, phone 512-677-9701.
The Martindale VRC in Caldwell County is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays only at the First Baptist Church, 12351 SH 142 in Martindale until further notice, phone 512-677-9701.
Persons who want to volunteer to help with flood- and storm-related needs, and survivors who need assistance with cleaning or repairing storm-damaged homes can register at any center or call 512-677-9701 for additional information.
The BR3T is a regional long-term recovery effort supported by Blanco, Caldwell, Guadalupe and Hays Counties and their cities to help disaster survivors recover from storms and floods that affected the region on Memorial Weekend and October 30-31, 2015. Any resident of the four-county region (inside or outside of city limits) is welcome to register for volunteer help, and volunteers are welcome from everywhere
