Texas Department Of Housing And Community Affairs Soliciting Public Input

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs will host a roundtable discussion on the draft rule for reporting Housing Finance Corporation activity to the TDHCA.

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (“TDHCA”) will host a roundtable discussion on the draft rule for reporting Housing Finance Corporation (“HFC”) activity to the TDHCA.

The Texas Housing Finance Corporations Act of 1987 (the “Act”) provides for the establishment of nonprofit HFCs organized and controlled by units of government to provide financing for single family and multifamily activity within the state of Texas.

Within the Act’s requirements, HFCs must provide an annual report to  TDHCA on the organizations’ single family and multifamily activity (Tex. Local Gov’t Code §394.027). The statue further requires that TDHCA prescribe the form of the report through a rulemaking process.

TDHCA is drafting the proposed rule to present to its Governing Board at the Thursday, June 29, 2017, board meeting in order to start the public comment period for the rule.

The roundtable discussion is intended to solicit public input during the rule-drafting process. It will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. Austin local time, at TDHCA’s headquarters, located at 211 E. 11th St., Austin, Texas 78701, Room 116.

It is open to the public; however, space is limited and therefore the courtesy of a reservation is requested. Please register for this Roundtable at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hfc-roundtable-on-activity-reporting-tickets-35089744370.
