City Council To Consider Resolution In Opposition Of Floyd’s Death, Support Of SMPD

Tonight, the San Marcos City Council will consider a resolution opposing the “senseless death of Mr. George Floyd and supporting the San Marcos Police Department’s current policies regarding the use of force.”
According to the agenda, the resolution will require an annual review of the department’s policies as well as updates.
The item (#28) is posted on the council’s non-consent agenda and will be open for discussion. No further background information was included in the agenda packet.
The San Marcos City Council will convene virtually for their regular meeting at 6:00 PM.
Those interested in submitting public comments must submit them to the City Clerk’s office by 12:00 PM on the day of the meeting.
How about you stop wasting time, get back to work, and open the Children’s Park? This is what they do when they should be leading.
I support the police but the police need more than words. They need a reality. This resolution is a slap in the face.
George Floyd was in poor health and had quite the mixture of chemicals in his system. Then he chose, repeatedly, to fight the cops. Bottom line: George Floyd contributed to his own death. We’d all be served well be recognizing that fact and letting the legal system play out in this case.
Yet, none of that has anything to do with the SMPD. So to tie them together is a backhanded accusation of our own neighbors. Shame on the entire City Council and (the defacto mayor) City Manager.

The San Marcos City Council voted unanimously to file a legal brief in opposition to Senate Bill 4, the proposed state ban on so-called sanctuary cities. The council values protection of foreign nationals who enter our country illegally, take our jobs and murder our citizens. Mano Amiga of San Marcos facilitated the council’s opposition.
San Marcos Police Officer Justin Putnam was murdered on duty April 18th by illegal alien Jose DeLaCruz, who also wounded Officers Franco Stewart and Justin Mueller.
San Marcos City Council has now enacted a cite-and-release ordinance which limits our police department from arresting persons found committing theft and property damage, said ordinance was proposed by Mano Amiga, whose mission is protection and establishment of illegal alien residents in San Marcos. By this ordinance, Mano Amiga satisfied its goal of preventing identifiers (fingerprints, photos, etc) generated by the arresting agency at the jail following arrest. No identifiers means the alien remains out of the system and unknown. Police officer: “Okay sir, we’re not going to arrest you. Just tell us your name, and you can appear in court”. Anonymous killers on the roam. Thanks council. Farewell Justin Putnam. The Lord will avenge your death at the hands of these people.
Let’s not forget our local secretary for Mano Amiga councilperson Joca Marquez, who stated she was resigning in lieu of facing ethics charges arising from her use of office for racial retaliation. However, our city council now says she won’t resign until they’re ready for her to resign. They’ve cancelled the ethics hearing. After all, what with murder and mayhem on the rise, and with police morale at an all time low, why mess with success ?
This is how our city council supports the San Marcos Police Department. Just call it deadly kindness.

This is solidly a case where it would be better to say nothing. Minneapolis is 1,200 miles away from here. This had nothing to do with our community.
