City Of Kyle Recognized For Excellence In Financial Reporting
This is the third consecutive year for the City of Kyle to receive this award.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to City of Kyle for the third consecutive year by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“The CAFR award is labor intensive, represents a great deal of work and is representative of how hard we work everyday to be transparent and accountable to the citizens of Kyle,” said Scott Sellers, Kyle City Manager. “Having received this award three years straight reflects the high standard that our financial services team sets for themselves. That standard is also representative of the dedication of our entire city staff in regards to the work we do every day for our city.”
The City’s CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
“This award should reassure our City Council and the citizens of Kyle that their City’s accounting and financial management practices meet or exceeds governmental standards and regulatory requirements,” said Perwez Moheet, CPA, City of Kyle Director of Finance. “Our team is fully committed to complete transparency in the City’s financial reporting. Once again, this award validates their confidence in the capabilities of the City’s financial management team.”
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C.
