Crime Stoppers Works To Keep Citizens Safe, Relies On Donations, Anonymous Tips

Representatives of the Hays County Crime Stoppers came to the Commissioners Court meeting recently to thank the citizens of Hays County for their help in resolving crimes and to remind everyone that Crime Stoppers works through donations and vigilance.

Crime Stoppers pays rewards for information that leads police to the arrest and/or grand jury indictment of those involved in or wanted for a crime such as murder, sexual assault, robbery, auto theft, illegal narcotics and burglary. When you call Crime Stoppers, you remain anonymous and are given a code number that is used for payment of the reward. Your identity is never revealed and you have no further involvement in the case, according to Crime Stoppers.

To provide information about a crime or to donate to the program in Hays County, call 1-800-324-TIPS (8477) or visit the Crime Stoppers website at www.callcrimestoppers.com where you can provide a tip online anonymously. There is also a “TipSubmit” app available for many mobile phones.
