Governor Abbott Extends Statewide Disaster Declaration For COVID-19

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott Monday issued a proclamation extending his Disaster Declaration for all Texas counties in response to COVID-19.

Originally issued on March 13th, the Disaster Declaration provides the state a variety of resources to effectively serve Texans as the Lone Star State continues to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

“Renewing this Disaster Declaration helps ensure that we have the resources and strategies in place to help communities across Texas respond to COVID-19,” said Governor Abbott. “I urge Texans to take precautionary steps to protect their health by wearing a mask, social distancing, and sanitizing their hands. Working together, we will slow the spread and keep our communities safe.”

  1. This is never going to end. We are 6 months into a 30 day emergency declaration. I want to see the unbroken chain of renewals. I’m pretty sure they let it sunset. And that would make renewal invalid.

    1. Sir,

At least we are protected and safe on behalf of the better good. If you are complaining about a thing you do not like as opposed to a thing you do not understand because you do not like it, then why not say so? Your posts all seem to imply you know what is going on around you, but have you any idea how many people down your street are suffering from this pandemic who are not telling you probably as a result of knowing you associate it all with some type of conspiracy. Whether seen driving or even in your backyard without a mask, people know who their neighbors are and what they really stand for. If you cannot make concessions on behalf of the better good then why should you be allowed to participate in the benefits? Thank you

  2. You sure about that? San Antonio has experience a steady linear growth of fatalities. Only think that has changed is the method for counting. That changed on 1 July. Prior to it it was linear at about 1 death per day. Percent fit (R-squared) was more than 98%. Then on 1 July the growth line suddenly jumped to 11 per day. Percent fit on the new line is more than 95%. Those fits appear to be immaculate. Better than 95% of the growth of COVID fatalities can be predicted by the sun rising in the morning. It really don’t get much better.

We’ve been lied to. The virus should spread exponentially. The human toll to follow suit. But it ain’t. Constant linear growth. Why? Because old folks die at a fairly constant rate.
