Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/26/21 to 4/27/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Tuesday (4/26-4/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., SH 71 right mainlane in both directions will be closed at US 183.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/26/21 to 4/28/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Tuesday (4/26-4/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound right frontage lane will be closed from MLK Blvd. to 51st St.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/26/21 to 4/30/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Friday (4/26-4/30) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound to Airport, 7th St., and Cesar Chavez the right lane will be closed at US 183.

Monday (4/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Airport Blvd. southbound ramp to US 183 will be closed. Detour via Cesar Chavez to US 183.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/18/21 to 4/20/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (4/26-4/30) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 towards the airport will be closed. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/26/21 to 4/28/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (4/26-4/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound on-ramp will be closed at Loyola. Traffic to detour through the signalized intersection at Loyola.

LANE CLOSURE — 4/26/21 to 4/29/21 — PAVING
Monday-Wednesday (4/26-4/28) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from MLK Blvd to Manor Springdale.

RAMP CLOSURE — 4/26/21 to 4/27/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday (4/26) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the northbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the Airport will be closed. Detour to westbound SH 71, exit for Riverside Dr, then use the U-turn to access eastbound SH 71.

ROAD CLOSURE — 4/26/21 to 5/1/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Friday (4/26-4/30) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound frontage road will be closed at Bolm. Detour via Bolm to Gardner to US 183 south.

Sunday (4/25) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday-Thursday (4/26-4/29) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound Exit to Airport Blvd. will be closed at Montopolis Dr. Detour via 183 northbound frontage road to Boggy Creek U-turn to US 183 south to Airport Blvd., 5th St., 7th St. and Cesar Chavez.

Tuesday-Wednesday (4/27-4/28) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound on-ramp will be closed at Purple Sage. Detour through the signalized intersection at Manor/Springdale Rd.

Tuesday (4/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be closed at SH71. Detour via Spirit of Texas U-turn.
