San Marcos Library Highlights

Coloring for Adults

Wednesday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m.

San Marcos Public Library

At the San Marcos Public Library, coloring is no longer just for kids, it’s a time out for grownups to relax, meditate, and get some ‘me time.’ The San Marcos Public Library will host Coloring for Adults on Wednesday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. Adult coloring is all the rage right now, and for good reason! Come experience the mental health benefits such as increased focus, mindfulness, and the alleviation of anxiety through gorgeous color sheets and sharp pencils.

Just an hour of coloring will allow a timeout for your day to de-stress, while making friends and creating amazing art.  Also, coloring no longer needs to be a solo activity – coloring in the company of others can reap even more enjoyment. Snacks and all supplies will be provided.

Teens Needed at the Library

Calling students ages 12-17!

San Marcos Public Library

The San Marcos Public Library is ramping up for another blowout summer reading program for 2016! Teens 12-17 have a lot to look forward to: Japanese arts and food, lots of anime, space to develop talents like creative writing, songwriting, painting. And we will also consume tons of ice cream! Finally, the 2016 Summer Reading Program will end with a grand finale party that will include a teen talent show.

To support our summer’s activities, we are calling on any interested teen volunteers who may be able to help the library this summer. The library seeks enthusiastic, customer service oriented students to help with the Summer Reading Program. Applications available now; due by May 20.
