Over 147,385 of 5 years and older in Hays County are now vaccinated

HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS – In Hays County, over 68% or 147,385 of 5 years and older, and in Texas, over 66% or 17,867,737 of people 5 years and older have received their initial dose of vaccine.

In addition, over 59% or 128,076 of Hays County 5 years and over, are fully vaccinated, and Texans in the same age groups, over 57% or 15,548,560 of Texans, are fully vaccinated.

Over the week, 672 in Hays County and an additional 113,762 in Texas received their first dose of the vaccine. Additionally, another 736 in Hays County and 106,694 in Texas received their second dose of vaccine.

Furthermore, in Hays County only 15,930 and in Texas 1,760,141 have received a third dose or booster shot.

As vaccine distribution increases, more of the local Hays County and Texas population has received at least their first dose. Because of this, active case numbers and the number of monthly COVID-19 related fatalities have decreased.

Many doctors’ offices, retail pharmacies, hospitals, and clinics are now or will soon be able to offer COVID-19 vaccinations. The federal government is providing the vaccine free of charge to all people living in the United States, regardless of their immigration or health insurance status.
