Hays County Transportation Plan Public Involvement, Survey

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County is updating the Hays County Transportation Plan to identify safety improvements, improve regional connections and mobility, and plan for future growth and development over the next two decades.

This planning document will serve as a tool to help implement projects, preserve right-of-way, and collaborate with regional partners to guide our future transportation landscape.

The County is hosting a virtual open house to share information on the planning process and collect input from the community on existing transportation needs.

Virtual open house materials are available at www.haystransportationplan.com and include a video presentation and an online survey, available through Oct. 10, 2020.

“Hays County is a special place with unique character and a growing local community,” said Transportation Director, Jerry Borcherding, P.E. “The effort to keep our transportation plan updated is going to make it easier and safer for people to move around the area.”

Public involvement will play an important role in the development of the Hays County Transportation Plan. The survey asks respondents their opinions on current transportation challenges, transportation options currently available in the County, and modes of transportation they would use more often if they were readily available.

The County recognizes travel has been impacted by COVID-19 and asks that respondents give their opinions based on their travel experience over the last year.

The comment period is from Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, through Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020.

Comments may be submitted via the online survey, emailed to info@haystransportationplan.com, mailed to Hays County Transportation Plan, P.O. Box 5459, Austin, Texas 78763, or leave a voicemail/text at 512-400-4297.
