January Is Crime Stoppers Month In Hays County; Mobile App Available To Report Anonymous Tips

In 2017 alone, statewide, Crime Stoppers tips have resulted in the arrest of 3,800 suspects and the seizure of more than $10 million in illegal narcotics.

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – The Hays County Commissioners Court has proclaimed January as Crime Stoppers Month in Hays County, and thanked the Hays County Crime Stoppers for helping to keep Hays County citizens and property safe at its Tuesday meeting.

“We’re glad we have such an active and innovative group,” Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe said after hearing that there is now a mobile phone application that can be used on-the-go for citizens to call in tips.

Executive Director Don Arledge said that since its 35 years in Hays County, Crime Stoppers tips have resulted in the arrest of 681 suspects, 836 offenses cleared, $198,000 in stolen property recovered, $12.5 million in narcotics seized, and nearly $71,000 in rewards paid to anonymous tipsters.
