Public Invited To Discuss Stormwater Master Plan

This plan will update hydrologic and hydraulic models that predict and manage stormwater flow, analyze drainage complaint areas, assess creek erosion, and establish a capital improvement plan to address infrastructure needs.

The Engineering/CIP Department will have a meeting to update the public on a new master plan designed to address stormwater in San Marcos on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins.

The new Comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan will update the previous Drainage Master Plan that was completed in 1994.

This plan will update hydrologic and hydraulic models that predict and manage stormwater flow, analyze drainage complaint areas, assess creek erosion, and establish a capital improvement plan to address infrastructure needs.

The plan will consider current and future development and the City’s drainage improvements that have been installed since adoption of the Drainage Master Plan.

The final plan will allow the City land maps to align with the newest FEMA map updates.

For more information on the plan, please call the City of San Marcos Engineering Department at 512.393.8130 or email enginfo@sanmarcostx.gov.
