San Marcos Calling For Comments On 2015 Disaster Recovery Funds

The City was awarded an additional $8,714,000 of CDBG-DR funds, for a total of $33,794,000 to address the impact of the floods of 2015. 

The City of San Marcos will hold a Public Meeting Thursday, Sept.14, 2017 in Room 2 of the Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins from 6 -8 p.m. to discuss the use of the additional funds in relation to the unmet needs in the community from the Floods of 2015 and the projects that could address the unmet needs in the community.

The City was awarded an additional $8,714,000 of CDBG-DR funds, for a total of $33,794,000 to address the impact of the floods of 2015. 

Substantial Amendment No. 4 to the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Action Plan will identify additional project(s) that will help San Marcos recover from the May and October 2015 floods. 

The comment period for Substantial Amendment No. 4 to the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Action Plan will be from Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at 8 a.m. through Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at 5 p.m. This surpasses the seven day required comment period cited in the CDBG-DR Action Plan.

The City Council will also hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 630 E. Hopkins, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 to accept citizen comments on the Substantial Amendment No. 4 to the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Action Plan. 

The Substantial Amendment No. 4 will be available for citizen review/comment and will be available at the San Marcos Public Library, 625 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666; the City Planning & Development Services office and the Community Development Block Grant Office, both located at 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos 78666.
