San Marcos Public Library Starts New Hours, Services

The San Marcos Public Library has moved into the new portion of its building and has reopened for public services beginning today, Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The new library hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 6 PM

Curbside Service:

Curbside service is now available during regular business hours.

Patrons may place items on hold through the library catalog at www.sanmarcostx.gov/library, via email at smpl@sanmarcostx.gov or by calling 512.393.8200

Items may be requested by title, subject, or grade level.  Library staff will collect the requested items and patrons will be notified via email or telephone when items are ready to be picked up.

When you arrive to pick up materials, call 512.393.8200, and staff will verify your identification, check out materials, and place them in your trunk at the back door of the new building, just past the drive-thru drop off area.

Limited Lobby Service:

The lobby is now open and available for self-service computer, printing, and scanning.

The public is encouraged to provide their own change for all coin-operated services. Masks are required for everyone over ten years of age who enter and remain in the lobby.

For public health concerns, children without a mask must remain with a parent or adult at all times. Browsing and in-person checkout of materials has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19.
