San Marcos Parks and Recreation, in association with the Life Long Learning Organization of San Marcos, is offering new Life Long Learning courses for the greater San Marcos area beginning in October.

The classes are primarily for those age 50 and above, but adults of any age are welcome to register. For complete course descriptions, instructor information, material lists or to register for a class, stop by the Activity Center at 501 East Hopkins, the Parks and Recreation Main office at 401 East Hopkins, call 512.393.8400 or visit www.sanmarcostx.gov/activeSMTX and search LLL for Life Long Learning courses. A minimum number of registrants is required for these classes to make.

  1. Pastel Landscape Painting – Art Class

Fridays, Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26 and Nov. 2, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cephas House, 213 W. MLK. Cost is $50 and is presented by Roxana Tuff, a metalsmith and illustrator who holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing and a MFA in Painting.                        

  1. Watercolor Painting of Scenes with Figures – Art Class

Fridays, Oc. 5, 12, 19, 26 and Nov. 2, 2018 from 1:30 – 4 p.m. at the Cephas House. Cost is $50 and is presented by Roxana Tuff.

  1. Experimental Watercolor:  Playing with Water and Pigment – Art Class

Fridays, Nov. 9, 16, 30 and Dec. 7, 14 (no class Friday, Nov. 23) from 1:30 – 4 p.m. at the Cephas House. Cost is $50 and is presented by Roxana Tuff.

  1. Personal Financial Management 

Mondays, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and Nov. 5 at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins. Free of charge; presented by Trish Wilder, a financial advisor who has served the San Marcos/Kyle area for the past four years and is a 15-year Edward Jones employee.
