Attempted Kidnapping – False Report to Peace Officer, Wimberley

On March 4, 2015, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an attempted kidnapping of an adult female in the parking lot ofthe Dollar General Store located at FM 2325 and Carney Lane in Wimberley, Texas. Upon leaving the store, the female reported that a white male forcibly attempted to drag her into his vehicle. The Hays County Sheriff’s Office was initially contacted when the female returned to her residence in Wimberley.

 

During the course of the investigation, Detectives from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division reviewed video surveillance captured from the day of the reported crime.

 

This surveillance video revealed that the reported victim, identified as Kristi Ruttley White, W/F, 37 Years of Age DOB: 05/21/1977 had exited the Dollar General Store and returned to her vehicle and left without incident and had not been accosted as reported. Upon reviewing the video recording, White confessed that the incident she reported did not occur. A false report to peace officer warrant (Misdemeanor “B”) was issued for White’s arrest.

 

White was arrested and taken into custody on March 23, 2015, at 12:17PM. as of yesterday afternoon, White had not been magistrated.
