Women’s 4x400m Relay Breaks TXST Records

In the mile relay, the foursome combined to complete the event in 3:36.24 to surpass the previous mark by nearly eight-tenths of a second.

BATON ROUGE, La. – The foursome of Dawnshae Evans, Tramesha Hardy, Esther Oyetunde and Sydni Willis highlighted the Texas State track and field teams trip to the LSU Alumni Gold. The group broke the school record that had stood since 2002.

In the mile relay, the foursome combined to complete the event in 3:36.24 to surpass the previous mark by nearly eight-tenths of a second. Their time is the fastest in the Sun Belt Conference by over seven seconds. It is the 10th fastest time in the NCAA West Region.

Logan Pittdman also added his name to the TXST record book. The senior was the runner-up in the 3000m steeplechase in 9:15.26. His time ranks in the top 5 in program history, is the second fastest in his career and placed him fifth in the conference.

Tallying two top 10 SBC times in the men’s 400m was Matthew Parker and De’Marcus Porter. Finishing in 47.32 was Porter for the fourth quickest time in the Sun Belt. Parker has the ninth best time at 48.29.

Also posting a top 10 conference time was Joe Austin in the 800m and the 4x100m relay team of Carlos Wilson, Lincoln Warren, Porter and Jaylen Allen.

DeAijha Hicks-Boyce ran an 11.71 in the 100m for the third fastest time in the Sun Belt. She was a hundredth of a second shy of matching her personal best.

In the 100m hurdles, Kaylee Krenek completed in the race in 14.22. It was a season best time for the junior that places her eighth in the SBC.

Next for Texas State is the Bobcat Classic that takes place Friday and Saturday at the Texas State Track & Field Stadium.
