A San Marcos Sexual Assault Of A Child Suspect Arrested In Mexico
The San Marcos Police Department requested assistance from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Repeat Offenders Program (ROP) to help apprehend Delgado.
The San Marcos Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault of a fifteen year old female that had occurred at a local motel in San Marcos on August 14, 2017. The subsequent investigation revealed that the suspect was the uncle of the female victim.
The suspect was identified as Jesus Delgado white male 56 years of age.
A warrant for Sexual Assault of a Child was issued by Justice of the Peace Maggie H. Moreno, Precinct 1 Place 2 for Sexual Assault of a Child, a second degree felony.
The San Marcos Police Department requested assistance from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Repeat Offenders Program (ROP) to help apprehend Delgado.
Delgado could not be located in the San Marcos area and the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force joined the Sheriff’s Office and the San Marcos PD in trying to locate Delgado. Information was later received that Delgado had fled to the Republic of Mexico.
The Task Force contacted their Mexico City Foreign Field Office, and in cooperation with the Government of Mexico, led authorities to Monterrey, Mexico, where Delgado was ultimately detained.
Delgado was deported from the Republic of Mexico after a determination was made that he had no legal status to remain there. Delgado was booked into the Webb County Sheriff’s Office where he will await transfer to Hays County.
